| ARTIMIS 511 System |
ARTIMIS was the first in the nation to implement the National 511 Traveler Information phone number. The
system is accessible to callers outside the Greater Cincinnati-Northern Kentucky region by dialing 1-513-333-3333.
The service is currently offered in two modes: express and interactive voice/touchtone mode.
The express mode is primarily geared to regular users of the system who wish to quickly navigate through their desired routes
using keypad inputs. Information is requested by entering the route number followed by the star (*) key. Once a caller hears
the desired information for that route, he/she can immediately enter the next route. Some special codes include: |
- # to get a help summary
- 5* to receive the local weather report
- 6* to leave a voice message for system feedback
- 7* to hangup

The complete list of codes is defined below. When the system answers, it speaks a welcome message
followed by a prompt to enter the star key for express mode. The express mode is entered by pressing the star key at any time
during these first two messages. If the star is not entered during this time, the system automatically goes to interactice voice mode.
The interactive voice/touchtone version allows the caller to speak the route desired or use keypad entry. The difference between
this version of keypad entry and the express version is that no star key is required. This version of the system takes a bit longer
to process due to the voice input. It does have all of the same available features. Some usage tips: |
- If using touchtone/keypad mode, put the phone on mute, if possible, to eliminate background noise.
- If using interactive voice mode, try to eliminate as much background noise as possible.
- When speaking route numbers, simply speak the digits. For example, for information on
Interstate 75, say seven, five.
- When listening to traffic conditions, pressing the star key will advance you to the next
item (if any) for that route or return you to the menu.
